Drug-related deaths are at record levels, too many drug users are receiving criminal sanctions rather than the treatment they need and young black and ethnic minority people are being disproportionately arrested for drug possession. 

The Labour Campaign for Drug Policy Reform (LCDPR) believes the UK’s drug policy needs to change and it is bringing this conversation for reform to communities across the country with a series of 'Public Meetings'. 

On the 5th September, the campaign will be coming to the University of York. 

This is a unique opportunity for the people of Yorkshire help shape the U.K.'s drug policy for the better. 

So, come and join us to shape Labour's and the U.K.'s drug policy for the future. 

This event at the University of York will be chaired by Rachel Maskell MP (York Central) and will consist of a panelled discussion, with experts from academia, treatment and medicine. 

The panel will consist of Ian Hamilton (Uni of York), James Pierce (drug treatment services) & Matthew Gaskell (Consultant Psychologist &  Lead for addictions for Leeds. There is still one panellist speaker to be confirmed in due course.

Doors will open at 18.15. Come along, bring your friends, have your say and let's change Labour's drug policy for the better.
